Planning rules in Oswestry
Planning in Oswestry goes through Shropshire Council. Like-for-like work rarely needs consent, but anything that alters the look of the street usually needs consent. We check which applies to your unit at survey.
How much?
Budget from £3,200 plus VAT as a starting point. Your quote depends on the opening size, the finish and how easy access is. Quotations stay valid for 90 days.
Timescales
Manufacture usually takes 4-6 weeks after survey. Fitting a standard Oswestry unit is normally one to two days on site. If you cannot close, we can work outside trading hours.
The product
A fire shutter holds a compartment line for its rated period and closes automatically when the alarm panel signals. Popular choices include tested and certified as a complete assembly; drops automatically on a signal from the fire alarm panel.
Coverage
Oswestry falls within Shropshire covering SY postcodes, which puts it on the same route as Market Drayton, Telford and Shrewsbury.
Common questions
Can you match the units either side?
On a parade where the landlord wants a consistent frontage, we work to the same section profile and colour reference so the unit reads as part of the row.
What do you need from me to quote?
The address, roughly what you want, and a photo of the current frontage. Opening sizes help but are not essential, because we measure at survey anyway.
How much does fire-rated shutters cost in Oswestry?
Fire-rated shutters start from around £3,200 plus VAT for a standard opening. The exact figure depends on the width, height, finish and access, and comes from a free site survey as a written, itemised quotation.
Do I need planning permission in Oswestry?
Like-for-like replacements usually do not. Changing the appearance of the frontage, fitting an external roller shutter or adding an illuminated sign usually needs consent from Shropshire Council. We tell you which applies at survey.
